Project timeline

This Project is in active development with work underway to further investigate the wind resource in the area, and to conduct environmental studies across the Project site.

 

  • Identified site and began preliminary investigations
    Installed wind monitoring equipment to measure wind speed in the proposed Project area, and began early engagement with landowners, local government and other stakeholders.
  • Commenced detailed environmental studies
    Began environmental studies to investigate potential ecological, cultrual heritage, visual, and short- and long-term impacts. Results from preliminary studies informed the Project's Scoping Report and further studies will be used in the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
  • Commenced community engagement
    Began engagement with residents, neighbours and the wider community and stakeholders, to continue throughout the Project lifecycle. Vestas is committed to working with landowners and the communities in which we operate, listening to issues and addressing concerns that may arise.
  • Scoping Report and EPBC Act 1999 referral
    Submitted the Scoping Report to the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI). The report incorporated results from preliminary environmental assessments and stakeholder engagement. Vestas has also referred the Project to the Australian Government Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, which was reviewed under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act 1999.
  • SEARs
    DPHI issued Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs), providing direction to preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Project.
  • Prepare Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)
    We are preparing a detailed study of potential environmental impacts and benefits, including results from independent visual, noise and ecological impact assessments of the wind turbines.
  • Place EIS on public exhibition
    
DPHI will place the EIS on public exhibition for feedback from any interested stakeholder.
  • Complete Permitting
    
Secure State developing consent and Federal environmental approval.
