Southwest Renewable Energy Zone (SWREZ) Access Rights
April 2025
EnergyCo has now granted four renewable energy projects the rights to connect to new power lines in the South West Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), see details here:
South West Renewable Energy Zone Access Rights and Long Duration Storage LTESA
The Abercrombie Wind Farm congratulates projects that have been granted access rights in the SWREZ, we strongly believe projects in the SWREZ will provide many benefits to NSW energy consumers. Despite not participating in the SWREZ access scheme, Abercombie Wind Farm remains committed to advancing our development plans.
We are proceeding with environmental approvals, detailed project design, and the procurement of both construction and industry partners. Our current focus includes amending planning approvals, referring environmental approvals, and requesting support from Energy Co. for more projects to connect in the SWREZ. Additionally, we are dedicated to implementing a comprehensive community engagement and benefit-sharing program, ensuring that local stakeholders are actively involved.
